The [product] Supply Chain company 商业分析代写
A Supply Chain Company (SCC) is importing [product], as the raw material, for production of finished goods through processing. The company has its main plant located 10 miles away from Tilbury docks (United Kingdom). You are hired as a Supply Chain Analyst to help the company in optimising their business operations.

1 Data collection & Supplier Utility Function
Section leader: — insert name here —
The company has asked you to identify five countries to import [product] from. Determine five potential suppliers from these countries;
- State their distances to the plant;
- Shipping duration (“travel time”);
- freight rate.
Find the freight rate, which must be given in Pounds (£) per tons per 100 miles and in Euros (€) per ton per 100 km (state your source, or give reasons for your estimations). Assume that the freight rate is fixed for the period of the contract. Assume that the suppliers can fulfil the demand – specify the supply quantities. Agree or discuss in connection with section 2.2 a total required/available supply per month. Find reasonable values for the cost of raw material which is to be supplied. Your output should present:
- Cost of [product] (for each supplier, per ton [also per cwt]);
- What is the “commodity value” of [product] for a full container?
- Explain FTL and intermodal container; state kg of rough rice within intermodal container and the cost ($/FTL); State kg of rough rice in a hectolitre [kg/hl] and in kg/m3; can the container be used for shipping? What are your recommendations?
- Quantity shipped per supplier per month;

2 Break-even point & Production Mix 商业分析代写

2.1 Break-even point
The company will purchase the [product] from the above identified suppliers. In order to get a better idea (“tonnage confirmation”) about the break-even point, the cost has to be derived as the average raw material cost from the five suppliers, plus the transportation cost. The company will sell processed [products] to supermarkets for a competitive price. Find typical products and prices per ton. Find out (or assume) the ratio of raw material to processed product. Estimate staff’s salaries; cost for premises and other fixed costs for the factory. Provide a percentage that accommodates the uncertainty of the estimations. You have also looked at the actual processing of the [product]. You have found the cost of the raw material in the previous challenge. Estimate relevant costs and provide a percentage to allow deviations.
Display essential information in a table;
- Determine the break-even point;
- Do a sensitivity analysis;
- Visualise cost relationships;
- What do you advise the company (e.g. in regards to import volume, fixed cost, etc.)?
2.1.1 Your subsections ….
2.2 Production Mix
The company would like to find the best production mix for a range of possible products. Assume that the products (finished goods) use the same raw material. The production rates should be related to the break-even (BE) volume (per month) determined previously. Provide the number of working-days per month. Provide a demand limit in tons of finished goods that have to be produced per week. Use the agreed supply from section 1 per month of raw material as a monthly basis. Find (or define) for each product sales prices. Assume that not all of the raw material can be used for the finished goods – provide a percentage. Define or assume a minimum tonnage that has to be manufactured for each product, e.g. due to sales agreements.
- Determine the required raw material
- Determine the tonnage of finished goods
- Determine the revenue
- Consider the profit
- Provide a Mathematical Program (MathProg and Excel solution)

3 Distribution Network & FACILITY LOCATIONS 商业分析代写

3.1 Distribution Network
Assume that the quantities from the previous section are produced in one plant. Assume further that there are three more plants close to European capitals with similar production outputs (-10%, +20%, +30%). We will call these plants supply nodes. Furthermore, specify at least 10 distribution centres close or in European cities in Table 2. The demand should be uniformly distributed (justify balanced or unbalanced formulation).
- Create a distance matrix
- Create a cost matrix (related to distance matrix)
The plants possible monthly supply volumes and the distribution centres demand should be specified in the table below. Provide an argument for variations in the demand volume such as the city-size.

- Determine the quantities to be shipped between plants and distribution centres.
- Determine the costs

3.2 Facility locations
The company is considering introducing additional warehouses. Your task is to use Kruskal’s algorithm to find three clusters. Find the centres of the clusters using the centre of gravity method.
- Apply (or develop) Kruskal’s algorithm (use R code);
- Find locations for new distribution centres;
- Give more information about the new centres, e.g. demand.
3.2.1 Your subsections ….
4 Supply Chain Simulation 商业分析代写
Section leader: — insert name here —
4.1 Single Stage
The Company wants to simulate activities at its Tilbury plant. It is interested in the transfer of containers from the trucks to a storage location, designated SL-10. Trucks arrive at a rate derived from the volume produced in the previous task. It takes a team a certain time (make reasonable assumptions) to unload one container from the truck and to move it to the initial storage location SL-10, using a forklift vehicle. A truck carries x containers (specify x).
- Use an M/M/c queueing system to analytically determine the operational characteristics (explain simplifications)
- Simulate the same system and compare the operational characteristics
4.1.1 Your subsections ….
4.2 Business Process 商业分析代写
As a second challenge, extend the above, by considering the following aspects. At the initial storage location SL-10 staff perform a quality inspection and produce a record of the received containers (on average this takes a certain time – provide an assumption). On average x% (provide a percentage) of the goods fail the quality inspection (synchronise with section 2) and are moved to a collection point CP-20. The rest of the material is moved into the main storage area SA-30. It takes one loader between a to b minutes (uniformly distributed) to move one container to SA-30 (from SL-10). Containers are subsequently processed. Processing one container takes x hours (constant rate) for one manufacturing line Px-40. After the processing the goods are moved (U[c,d] for one loader) into a dispatch zone DZ-50 and trucks will take them to distribution centres (loading takes t minutes on average, exponentially distributed).
- Provide a schematic of the plant and divide into areas.
- Specify parameters in a table
- How many containers end up at collection point CP-20?
- How many loaders are required to avoid a bottleneck at SL-10?
- How many containers are on average in storage area SA-30?
- How many manufacturing lines are required to avoid back-logs?
- How many truck have to be used for dispatching the goods?
- How many loaders are needed to move goods into zone DZ-50?
- Provide an animation of the plant.
