Clinical data from 10 patients with Oral Crohn’s, 10 patients with Lichen Planus and 10 patients who are considered in good oral health were collected at the Glasgow Dental Hospital.
Demographic data was collected for each patient which includes age, smoking status and gender. Blood tests measuring 11 clinical parameters including white cell count (WCC), red cell count (RCC) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were collected from all 30 patients. In addition, quantification of the inflammatory biomarkers Interleukin 8 (IL-8) and Interleukin 6 (IL-6) was also performed.
Within this data set are numerous comparisons that can be performed, but it is up to each student to decide which factors they believe to be the most important and to form a data analysis report using the statistical analysis skills you have developed.
