Moreover, climate change is causing the immigration of people from areas with floods, drought, and extreme climatic conditions. According to 2008 report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees more than 22.5 million people were displaced by severe weather (Markham par. 5). Similarly, the United States also feel the pressure of immigrant looing for better habitats. The people from Latin America come towards the U.S border at times of natural disasters. Extreme weathers destroy crops and cause food insecurity. The prices of foodstuff increase as the cost of production also increase due to lack of water or destruction of plants and animals.
