Giving Matters代写 Giving Matters:When I was growing up, there was a popular saying that “giving is important than receiving”.

The act of giving for long has been given a connotation of money philanthropic.

But giving extend beyond monetary helps to the non-for-profit organizations like Intermountain Foundation. Which has dedicated its services to giving people the healthiest lives possible. The organization builds relationships and partnerships that inspire generosity in support of Intermountain Healthcare’s mission. In this case, giving is extended to personal services in caring for the sick people, participating in the research programs, and giving homes to the homeless and elderly. It also involves participating in the organization events that give hope to the people struggling with various conditions in life. (“Intermountain Foundation”, n.d.) These are just but a few important roles of charity non-profit organizations.

Charity is the act of giving back to the people and the community we live in. Most people have a lot of thought about charity but am going to present it in a way that maybe you have never thought of. Charity can take different forms ranging from giving personal time to help the community, the act of kindness to the needy and poor, support using personal resources. And love to the people and the community. Charity is used to touching our lives as well as the lives of others who need our help more. Giving is for self-fulfillment and self-satisfaction to the giver, for the benefit of others. Like John Rockefeller was quoted saying,

God gave me my money.  Giving Matters代写

I believe the power to make money is a gift from God to be developed and used to the best of our ability for the good of mankind. Having been endowed with the gift I possess, I believe it is my duty to make money and still more money and to use the money I make for the good of my fellow man according to the dictates of my conscience (Collier & Horowitz, 1976).

Although Rockefeller was perceived wrongly by people of his times. What he said was true with regard to charity and being generous to the people. Most people considered his prayer blasphemous but in an actual sense. He needed to have that he can be able to share with those who did not have. It is actually sensible to say that you can use that God has given you to make other people’s lives better and happier. You cannot give what you don’t have, and Rockefeller knew that, that why he prayed for more money.

He believed that he was rich because he gave so much to the people who really needed his help. In fact, he believed that if he fails to give God will take away what he has. Today, most entrepreneurs believe that giving make them successful entrepreneurs. They see their charity activities make their enterprises prosperous and their investments give better returns. They see charity as an obligation to giving back to the community.

When I was growing up, there was a popular saying that “giving is important than receiving”.  Giving Matters代写

The way of expressing the act of kindness and charity is through giving to the community, friends, and people in needs. Then there is a misconception about giving back that has existed for long. People assume that giving back mostly is about money, which is not the case. Many donations are given in terms of money but there are a lot of ways you can give back to the community, friend or a person in need.

One way you can give back is by giving personal time to serve the community and people.

Personal time may include time after work, during the weekends or holidays. Where instead of attending to personal issues you visit the sick, the elderly, help in the community work or serve in a certain capacity in an NGO. This way, you are not only giving money to the organization but it is a rewarding experience. Where you are voluntarily and actively working for the benefit of the people while making a difference. It is therefore important to set the timeout part of our busy schedule to help the community. And people through community organizations.

The time we spare no matter how little may touch the lives of the people we serve and make an enormous impact. The brainchild of the charity Community Service Volunteers (CSV) and sponsored by Yellow Pages. The first such event have been held in previous years. And was designed to encourage people to give a little of their time to something of benefit to where they lived. It was about “raising care, not cash”, the charity says.

Kindness is another way of giving back to the community and the people who need us.  Giving Matters代写

Kindness is the virtue of being friendly, generous, and considerable. A small act of kindness to a person may change his/her life forever. Such act as paying a visit to a homeless man seems a little thing but to the person’s life that acts makes a great impact. The act of kindness that you may offer to a person might the only thing that is lacking in that person’s life.

In addition to personal time and kindness, as a philanthropist, you can offer to give back in form of love and support. For example, you can emotionally be there for a person through the struggles they might be going through. Or even agree to sit alongside them in church because they need encouragement to go. You can also support those in events such as Relay for Life where love and strength are what the survivors need to continue to fight.

Giving back is such an easy thing to do, and it really demonstrates the selflessness and character of individuals. Helping others is a great actor, and often times, people get too caught up in their lives to realize how simple giving back can actually be. Giving back is not always on a large scale but also on a very small and individual scale. Like Albert Einstein once said, “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”

According to a survey on happiness conducted by 2009 Harvard School of Business in 136 countries  Giving Matters代写

Established that people are altruistic, that is, people who give selflessly and generous financially through charity work and donations were happiest (Anik, Aknin, Norton & Dunn, 2009). So where do these good feelings come from? When you are kind to people and your community your brain’s pleasures and rewards centers light up as if you were the one the act of providence is done. This is according to research from Emory University. This phenomenon has actually earned the nickname “helper’s high” among psychologists who study generosity. And some researchers theorize that the sensation is also due to a release of endorphins. Those feel-good chemicals associated with runner’s high.

Of course, part of why giving feels good is because we know we’re lifting someone else’s spirits. Receiving a gift, assistance, or even an encouraging smile activates the brain’s reward center, a phenomenon that’s hard to explain but easy to feel—just think back to the last time a stranger held the door for you or your partner surprised you with your favorite meal. The sudden appearance of these positive feelings is what helps keep the giving chain alive. Somebody who has just received and a bit of kindness is elevated, happy, and grateful, making them likely to help someone else, according to a 2009 study from Harvard University (Reuell, 2018).

But there’s more.  Giving Matters代写

The effects of kindness can be so great that you actually don’t have to be directly linked to a giving chain to get in on the act. By simply witnessing generosity you may be inspired to do something generous of your own. According to new research from Fowler, who found that simply observing kindness can spur more acts of good. Humans often mimic behavior they see, and that includes generosity. Which explains why some of these stories of small acts of kindness become bigger news. Even people who simply hear about a giving chain are often inspired to give, starting a chain of positivity all their own.

In 2013, the Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg donated $1 billion to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation via company stock.  Giving Matters代写

This act set a great example of an entrepreneur and a philanthropist. The foundation has helped people especially young people and women develop their talents especially in technology around the world. He and his wife Priscilla Chan have committed to giving 99% of their Facebook shares to charity for the rest of their life. Mark Zuckerberg was quoted saying that “Our society has an obligation to invest now to improve the lives of all those coming into this world, not just those already here”. She feels that it is the responsibility of the living to make this world a better place for those who will come after us. This can be done through giving to charities that have dedicated to changing lives of people. And other activities that make the world better like environment conservation.

Pioneering American philanthropist Andrew Carnegie once set the standard for giving back: “No man can become rich without himself enriching others”. He said. “The man who dies rich dies disgraced”. Carnegie meant that the act of giving to others is one way of creating life prosperity. People who give to the poor people are able to earn more so that they give more to others in need. Enriching others means helping others from the problems they face in their lives. Carnegie expressed the need to touch lives with the resources we have rather than dying wealthy but no impact on people’s lives. Throughout his life, he encouraged those who have to consider themselves lucky. But see it as a responsibility to take care of those who don’t have.

Melinda Gate says that “Philanthropy is not about the money. Giving Matters代写

It’s about using whatever resources you have at your fingertips and applying them to improving the world”.  In their foundation, Bill, and Melinda Gate Foundation, they have invested in poverty eradication around the developing countries; enhanced education through innovations; provision of nutrition to reduce childhood deaths; and active involvement in investing in healthy mothers and babies. They have invested their resources to improve the lives of the poor people and health care in developing countries like Asia and west and central Africa.

They have truly demonstrated how giving go beyond monetary donations by supporting programs which directly touches the lives of people. Melinda tells people to use the little resources they can have to make a change in the world. Because if we don’t who will?

Warren Buffet who is one of the wealthiest men in the world and who has given billion dollars to the charity organizations.

While was being awarded Forbes philanthropy award expressed gratitude to people who give away the resources. Which are important to them but still choose give to people who can do more good with those resources. What Buffet meant was that those who give don’t do it to dispose of what they have no use but they do it for those who can benefit more from those resources. They make personal sacrifices of their resources for the value of making other people’s lives better. These are the sick, poor, and vulnerable groups in the society. He had this to say to those who have the ability to give, “Think about whether the other $500 million might do more for humanity than it will for you and your family”. Many of the donors have come to follow Buffet’s lead.

Giving matters with how we touch the lives of those we extend our helping hands to regardless of how little we give.  Giving Matters代写

This means that it is not just about giving but it is also about the impact we make on the recipient of our generosity. Having different ways of giving means that almost everybody has something to give. Which can have an impact on the people’s lives and the community we live in. A person may lack money to give but he/she can set personal time to be with the sick, elderly, and orphans at people at Intermountain Foundation.  People can also express their generosity by being kind through the little things in their daily lives. The little things that we do to others and the community to show kindness, love. And support are so important than we can ever imagine even to our lives too.
