Companies are now focusing more on automating every process than doing things manually. Certainly, transportation and logistics industry is not immune to this on-going change. The job expected of transportation and logistics companies are no longer restricted to pick, pack, loading and delivery.
It has evolved and become more complex. Professionals working in the industry not only have to prepare for natural disasters but also for system crash. And other errors that may emerge due to the use of IT based systems. To make things more difficult, transportation and logistics companies are now also expected to provide minute-by-minute tracking service. From natural disasters to man-made crisis, the industry is now facing a lot of challenges that were non-existent a few years back.

And logistics industry have to face, the rise of e-commerce industry is a proof that they are learning things on the go. However, there’s one simple solution to get rid of all the ills facing the industry and that is implementation of effective risk assessment and mitigation strategies. To equip the industry professionals with enough knowledge and skills to tackle the current challenges.
Proper training and education programs should be developed and taught. Such programs will help the professionals understand the changing dynamics of the business and will help them prepare better to face any existing problem or unforeseen challenge that may arise in the future.
